#HRevolution 2015 Agenda – November 7th, 2015

We look forward to seeing everyone in Saint Louis next week! If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, we still have a few left. Here’s the agenda for the event on Saturday. As usual, we’ll have areas set aside for breakout discussions, off topic rants, and other fun tangents. Details on the Friday night social event are coming later this week. I’ll say this–you don’t want to miss it! Although it isn’t content-heavy, it is a great opportunity to meet everyone in a relaxed atmosphere the night before. Highly recommended, especially for the first timers.

9:45 – 10:30 – Session 1 Is HR Ready for Feedback?

In this session Mary Faulkner will lead a discussion around feedback for the HR function. Her organization recently did an internal customer satisfaction survey and got some pretty harsh feedback. So, is HR ready to hear feedback? Willing to act on it? How do you filter through the info to find the trends vs the people who aren’t happy? How do you manage a team who works hard but got bad marks for customer service?

10:45 – 11:30 Session 2 #HRPositive!

This session, led by Paul Hebert and Franny Oxford, will focus on HRPositive – how positive thinking can change the direction and opinion of HR. Why is it important and how HR can create more positive vibes around HR than the negative ones permeating the industry. As Franny says, “The disciplines of gratitude, wonder, and humble joy are deeply powerful, and terrifying. We’re going to offer HRevolution participants the courage to lead themselves and others from that place.

12:45 – 1:30 – Session 3 The Art of Candidate Engagement in a Noisy World

Let’s be honest. There’s entirely too much “spray and pray” in recruiting today, and recruitment marketing is growing as a true discipline. We need less traditional and more focus on presenting the organization well and targeted sourcing to be heard by the right candidates. Yes, we’re all inundated with phone, email, Slack, IM channels, and the app of the month, and all before we even get to social media. So, what’s the answer? This session hosted by Katrina Collier will attempt to get to the answers of this global issue.

1:45 – 2:30 – Session 4 The Idea Lifecycle

As organizations grow, they must scale their resources to adjust. But what happens when you come to a crossroads and scaling up means you lose some of your identity? How can organizations retain this essential piece of who they are while still meeting the needs of the employees and the business? In this participatory session led by Jane Jaxon, the audience will explore how organizations can face this challenge successfully.

2:45 – 3:30 – Session 5 Modern HR Challenges

Teams are everywhere, and with the increasingly collaborative nature of the workforce, we’re seeing more of a focus on team performance than ever before. In this session led by an in-the-trenches HR leader, we will explore the linkage between long term team development and business results. Tim Gardner will lead this discussion as we try to understand just how these connect.

3:45 – 4:30 – Session 6 Building Revolutionary HR Technology (Steve Boese)

4:30 – 5:00 – Closing remarks from the organizing team, group discussion, sharing of ideas, lessons learned, takeaways, etc.
